  • 1 package buttery pastry cookie dough
For the filling
  • 1 cup crema pasticciera (Italian custard cream) Prepared according to recipe or package instructions.
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries Use fresh, ripe fruits for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced Use fresh, ripe fruits for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup fresh whipped cream
  • to taste Powdered sugar for dusting

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven according to the pastry dough package instructions.
  2. Roll out the pastry dough and cut it into small circles to fit into a mini tartlet pan.
  3. Press the dough into the pan and bake until golden brown. Let cool.
  4. Prepare the crema pasticciera according to your recipe or package instructions.
Assembly
  1. Fill each cooled pastry shell with a generous spoonful of crema pasticciera.
  2. Top with fresh blueberries and sliced strawberries, arranging them to create a red, white, and blue effect.
  3. Add a dollop of whipped cream on top of each tartlet.
  4. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Make sure to let the pastry shells cool completely before adding the crema pasticciera to prevent them from getting soggy. Use fresh, ripe fruits for the best flavor. You can prepare the pastry dough and crema pasticciera in advance to save time. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
