Ingredients
  

For the meatballs
  • 1 lb ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
For the gravy
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 packet brown gravy mix
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into meatballs.
  2. Place the meatballs in the slow cooker.
Cooking
  1. In a separate bowl, mix together beef broth, brown gravy mix, mushrooms, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over meatballs in the slow cooker.
  2. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the meatballs are cooked through.
Serving
  1. Serve warm, spooning gravy over the meatballs.

Notes

Serve the meatballs over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles for a complete meal. Garnish with fresh parsley for extra color. These meatballs also pair well with steamed vegetables or a simple salad. If you prefer a thicker gravy, mix a tablespoon of cornstarch with some water and add it to the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
