Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the dark chocolate chips.
Baking
- Drop rounded tablespoons of the dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For extra thick cookies, you can chill the cookie dough for about 30 minutes before baking. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze them for up to three months.
