Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Dough
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened Ensure it is at room temperature for easy mixing.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure it is at room temperature for easy mixing.
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
For the Filling
  • 1 cup homemade strawberry jam Feel free to use store-bought for convenience.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together the cream cheese and butter until smooth.
  3. Add sugar, egg, and vanilla, and mix until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the cream cheese mixture, mixing until just combined.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet.
  6. Make an indentation in the center of each cookie and fill it with a small amount of strawberry jam.
Baking
  1. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  2. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

These cookies are best served slightly warm. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or refrigerate to keep fresh longer. Use parchment paper between layers if stacking.
