Ingredients
  

Cookie Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure your butter is at room temperature.
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch Chilling the dough before baking can enhance the flavor and texture.
Chocolate
  • 1 cup chocolate chips You can use different types of chocolate chips to suit your taste.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cornstarch.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden but the centers are soft.
  3. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

These cookies are best enjoyed warm, straight from the oven. For storage, keep in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week. To freeze, place in a freezer-safe bag or container for up to three months. Thaw at room temperature before enjoying.
