Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a bundt pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the buttermilk and vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Baking
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared bundt pan.
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon, and sprinkle half of this mixture over the batter in the pan.
- Pour the remaining batter on top, and sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
Notes
Serve plain or with powdered sugar, vanilla ice cream, or whipped cream. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, wrap tightly and refrigerate for up to a week, or freeze for up to 3 months.
