  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure your butter is softened properly for the best texture.
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour You can use gluten-free flour blend if needed.
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon red velvet cake food coloring Adjust the amount to change the shade of red.
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips Can substitute with dark or milk chocolate chips.
  • 1/2 cup sprinkles Use different flavored sprinkles for a unique twist.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract and red velvet food coloring.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the white chocolate chips and sprinkles.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  2. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

These cookies are great served warm with milk or cocoa. You can store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or freeze them for up to three months.
