Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Mix in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, and mix until smooth.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
Baking
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool for 10 minutes in the pans, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
Serving
- Frost with your favorite frosting and decorate as desired.
- Slice the cake into generous pieces and serve it on a nice plate.
- You can enjoy it plain or serve with fresh fruits, whipped cream, or a scoop of ice cream.
Notes
Make sure your ingredients are at room temperature for a better mix. Don’t overmix the batter after adding the flour, as this can make the cake dense. Rotate the cake pans halfway through baking for even cooking. For a rich vanilla flavor, use high-quality vanilla extract.
